Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to emergency patients
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ER
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patient status, document interventions, and update care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and next steps
- Respond to emergent situations with calm, evidence-based interventions
- Support throughput by facilitating admissions, discharges, and transfers
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in California (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Prior emergency department experience preferred
- Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and adapt quickly
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency nursing best practices
- IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-stress settings
- Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks efficiently
- Basic familiarity with cardiac monitoring and acute interventions
