Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support EHR and ancillary clinical system users across outpatient and inpatient settings
• Configure and optimize clinical application content with medical staff to reflect best practices
• Develop engaging, role-based training materials and deliver training via classroom, 1:1, remote shadowing, and video
• Triage user issues and route to the right subject matter experts for timely resolution
• Maintain and update application content (labs, radiology, meds, immunizations, codes)
• Assess clinical decision support systems and recommend improvements to enhance patient care
• Collaborate with IT, clinical teams, and vendors to align processes across SEARHC sites
• Support implementations and provide after-hours assistance when needed to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire applicants must have applied for an Alaska license before start date; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reports, or hardware/network experience)
• BSN preferred; Clinical Informatics training preferred
• Teaching experience and inpatient clinical experience preferred
• Experience with accreditation processes and HL7 messaging preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred; advanced degrees may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical applications management
• Clinical content configuration and medical decision support
• Scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• HL7 messaging basics and interoperability concepts
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Problem-solving, prioritization, and ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to train diverse audiences and create clear training materials
