Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care for critically ill adults and children in the ICU
• Deliver respiratory assessments and interventions consistent with RRT scope of practice
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary ICU teams to support complex patient needs
• Document care accurately and promptly in Epic
• Adapt to floating between like units to meet facility staffing needs
• Cover nights, weekends and observed holidays per the assignment requirements
• Follow facility policies including RTO limits and call-off/makeup procedures

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience (ICU/critical care experience preferred)
• Comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients
• Ability to chart in Epic (experience with Epic is preferred)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Willingness to float between like units and work every-other-weekend
• Pending licenses are not accepted — active license required

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (typical for RRT roles)
• Additional specialty training or continuing education in critical care is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care respiratory knowledge and ICU workflow familiarity
• Comfort with pediatric and adult critical care populations
• Proficient documentation skills in Epic
• Ability to work night shifts independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills for handoffs and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Adaptability to short-term travel assignment policies and unit expectations
