Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
• Support daily living activities (ADLs) to maintain dignity and independence
• Take and document vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Observe and communicate behavioral or health changes to licensed nursing staff promptly
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Chart care activities clearly and timely, contributing to continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident comfort and quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but not mandatory
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently during night shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and personal care for older adults
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and resident observations
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safe transfer techniques
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members
• Strong observational skills and ability to escalate clinical changes appropriately
• Team player mindset with a focus on resident dignity and respect
