Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care in a busy Emergency Department at a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Rapidly assess, triage and manage patients across the lifespan, including pediatric patients
• Lead resuscitation efforts in resuscitation bays and coordinate care with the trauma team
• Perform timely stroke and STEMI assessments and interventions using NIHSS and protocol-driven care
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and ancillary teams to ensure high-quality, efficient patient flow
• Document accurately and communicate clearly during handoffs and multidisciplinary rounds
• Maintain readiness for high-acuity cases and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (California) — active, unencumbered
• TNCC required; ENPC preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications; PALS required
• Proficiency with NIHSS for stroke assessment
• Experience in trauma care and strong pediatric emergency knowledge (15% pediatric volume)
• Comfort working high-volume ED shifts and performing in resuscitation scenarios
• Ability to pass employer background and health screening per facility policy

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN/ADN or BSN preferred)
• Current RN license in the state of California

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department workflow and triage principles
• Trauma assessment and management in a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Pediatric emergency care and family-centered communication
• Resuscitation skills in high-acuity settings
• NIHSS stroke assessment and basic stroke pathway familiarity
• Strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making and teamwork under pressure
• Clear documentation, effective handoff communication and electronic health record use
