Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day shift (5 x 8-hour days)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs to ensure safe, efficient visits
- Prepare exam rooms and set up/assist with routine outpatient procedures
- Collect and label specimens (throat swabs, UA/clean catch, venipuncture) with care and accuracy
- Administer injections and immunizations per clinic protocol
- Perform point-of-care testing such as blood glucose via glucometer
- Conduct hearing and vision screenings and support nebulizer treatments
- Manage telephone triage, pharmacy refill requests, and follow-up phone calls professionally
- Process prescription refill requests, prior authorizations, and in-basket referrals to keep care moving
- Assist with suture removal and basic wound checks as appropriate within scope
- Chart thoroughly in Epic and communicate clearly with patients and the care team, including psychiatric patient interactions
Qualifications
- MA-C required (MA-R not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience; first-timers accepted
- Prior Epic experience required for charting
- Comfortable working in an adult outpatient behavioral health clinic
- Must live within a reasonable commutable distance to Lacey, WA and have reliable transportation
- Provide three interview time options when submitted and be available for scheduled interviews
- Disclose any prior Providence employment (facility will verify prior employment)
- COVID-19 vaccine: facility guideline states not required
Education
- MA-C (required)
- BLS (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Epic charting and healthcare terminology
- Obtaining vital signs and rooming patients
- Specimen collection and proper labeling (throat, urine, venipuncture)
- Injections, immunizations, and administration of TB tests
- Blood glucose testing with a glucometer
- Telephone triage, patient communication, and pharmacy refill handling
- Prior authorizations and processing in-basket referrals
- Comfort and experience working with psychiatric patients
- Basic procedure assistance, suture removal, and nebulizer treatments
- Professional, patient-centered outpatient clinic workflows
