Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), rotating schedule that includes weekends; night shift coverage and float to other stepdown/PCU units as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for PCU/stepdown adults and geriatrics on night shifts
- Initiate and maintain IV access, manage peripheral and central lines, and assist with PICC care and phlebotomy
- Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias — intervene and escalate per protocol
- Work effectively on Rapid Response and Code teams when emergencies arise
- Administer and manage blood products and follow heparin and IV insulin protocols
- Provide respiratory support including HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP, trach care and assist with ABG interpretation
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
- Float to equivalent or lower-acuity stepdown/PCU areas and other campus units as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (note: 1 year of solid step-down/PCU experience may be considered)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state or eligible to obtain one
- BLS and ACLS required
- Proven experience with telemetry and IV start skills (both required)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy preferred
- Procedural sedation monitoring, NIHSS, and previous charge experience are a plus
- Facility guidelines: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV therapy: start, maintain peripheral and central lines, PICC management
- Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
- Respiratory management: HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP, tracheostomy care
- Management of blood products and familiarity with heparin and IV insulin protocols
- Basic ventilatory support knowledge and non-invasive airway management
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record and accurate clinical documentation
- Strong emergency response skills and comfort working on Rapid Response/Code teams
