Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a 60-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely using Alaris pumps
• Document thorough, accurate patient care in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans
• Assist with post-surgical care and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, HF, and HTN
• Float to nearby units (acute rehab, geriatric psych, 6E) as needed to support patient care

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (eligible to submit for Nebraska)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Med-Surg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• BLS certification required prior to start
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (radius policy applies)
• COVID-19 vaccination status required at time of submission
• No current FT/PT/PRN affiliation with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities
• Positive attitude, team-player mindset, and cultural sensitivity (serving diverse populations, including Korean-speaking patients)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BLS certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient charting and documentation in Epic (EpicCare Inpatient)
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pump systems and safe medication administration
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Ability to manage common Med-Surg diagnoses: post-op care, diabetes, heart failure, HTN, oncology-related care
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
• Comfort floating to specialty units and adapting to different patient populations
