Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult PCU patients, including cardiac med/surg, respiratory, renal failure, sepsis, and post-procedural care
• Safely titrate and manage common drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Manage and troubleshoot arterial lines and high-flow oxygen therapies, and support RT equipment as needed
• Read and interpret telemetry strips and monitor data accurately to guide patient care
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate clearly with the care team to support patient experience scores
• Serve as a collaborative team member under a charge nurse and mentor support staff and patient care techs
• Float to MedSurg or ICU as required and adapt quickly to changing patient acuity

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit for the Kearney assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (acute care/PCU or stepdown preferred)
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (current at time of submission)
• Competency with arterial lines and titratable drips
• Driver's license required at time of submittal to verify radius rule eligibility
• Comfortable with mandatory pass/fail skills exam during orientation (90% required)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (Associate or Diploma acceptable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation skills and familiarity with tele monitoring
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and bedside documentation
• Experience troubleshooting high-flow oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP support and basic RT equipment
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips safely and independently
• Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity (patient populations include Hispanic and Somalian communities)
• Team-oriented, flexible, able to receive feedback and adapt in a fast-paced hospital environment
