Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including LHC, RHC and PCI
• Operate and monitor mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella and IABP during cases
• Provide ventilator management and safe care for ventilated patients in the cath lab
• Prepare, calibrate and troubleshoot GE imaging equipment and cath lab devices
• Accurately document procedures and patient data in Meditech EMR
• Maintain sterile technique, ensure procedural supplies are available, and support a smooth case flow
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians and multidisciplinary staff to deliver timely, patient-centered care
• Respond to emergent situations and support recovery and transfer of post-procedure patients

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience (explicitly required)
• Hands-on experience with Impella and IABP devices and ventilator management (must-have skills)
• Experience with LHC, RHC, PCI and PPM procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and GE cath lab equipment
• Relevant technical training or certification for cath lab technologists
• Current BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
• Strong teamwork, independent problem-solving and a great attitude toward patient care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of relevant technical program or associate degree in cardiovascular technology or related field preferred

• Cath lab procedures and instrumentation
• Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
• Left and right heart catheterization (LHC, RHC)
• Temporary and permanent pacemaker support (PPM)
• Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) operation
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Meditech electronic medical record
• GE imaging and cath lab equipment
• Vascular/peripheral intervention and electrophysiology (preferred)
