Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care during the night shift, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Perform thorough nursing assessments and develop timely care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care before discharge
• Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate concerns to appropriate providers
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic charting and handoffs at shift change
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California RN license preferred or RN compact eligibility
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) encouraged or preferred
• Clinical experience in acute care or relevant specialty preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work overnight hours and adapt to a per diem schedule

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with acute care protocols, safety standards, and infection control
• Prioritization and time-management skills in fast-paced settings
