Roles & Responsibilities

• Admit and independently manage ventilated neonatal and pediatric patients using Servo-U and Drager VN500 ventilators
• Set up and manage heliox therapy, nitric oxide, high-frequency ventilation (HFOV/HFJV) as indicated
• Provide non-invasive ventilation care including BiPAP, CPAP, and Bubble CPAP for neonates
• Document all patient care, ventilator settings, and therapies accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with NICU and PICU teams to deliver family-centered, evidence-based respiratory care
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure safe operation of respiratory equipment on the unit

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Minimum 1+ year Neonatal ICU or PICU critical care experience (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• Hands-on experience with Servo-U and Drager VN500 ventilators, HFOV/HFJV, Bubble CPAP, nitric oxide and heliox therapy
• Comfortable using Epic for documentation and charting

Education

• RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management for neonatal and pediatric patients, both invasive and non-invasive
• Neonatal ventilation techniques including Bubble CPAP and nitric oxide
• High-frequency ventilation modes (HFOV, HFJV) and advanced respiratory therapies
• Non-invasive supports such as BiPAP, CPAP, and Vaportherm
• Heliox therapy setup and monitoring
• Proficient Epic documentation and clinical workflow knowledge
• Patient admission workflows and management of vented patients
