Shift Type: Night shift, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, includes every other weekend (night schedule)

Candidate Pay Rate: $80 - $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform timely and accurate laboratory testing of clinical specimens following established protocols
• Prepare and maintain specimens, reagents, and equipment to ensure quality results
• Operate and troubleshoot lab instrumentation, performing routine maintenance and quality checks
• Document test results and maintain accurate records in the laboratory information system
• Follow safety and infection control procedures to maintain a safe work environment
• Collaborate with clinicians and teammates to prioritize testing and support patient care decisions
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance lab processes and patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Medical Laboratory Technician license or certification (MLT/MLS) as required by state or employer
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred
• Prior experience working in a clinical laboratory, preferably with night shift experience
• Familiarity with laboratory safety, CLIA regulations, and quality control procedures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during night shifts
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
• Certification (MLT/MLS) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in specimen handling, phlebotomy basics, and laboratory best practices
• Experience operating common lab analyzers and microscopes
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic result entry
• Knowledge of quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
