Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment under PT supervision
• Administer manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, modalities, ambulation and assistive-device training
• Assess patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist to optimize care
• Document all regulatory and clinical information accurately in the electronic record and record treatment minutes
• Provide education and counseling to patients, families and caregivers to support meaningful outcomes
• Report treatment effectiveness and contribute input for discharge summaries per clinical requirements
• Coordinate with the care team and participate in patient care conferences, utilization review and rehab meetings
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist

Qualifications

• Active PTA license (Missouri state licensure; compact allowed) — required
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience — required
• LTC or rehab experience — required
• Competence with electronic documentation and accurate treatment-minute recording
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance, APTA and state practice acts
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and participate in facility trainings
• Comfort supervising students and coordinating DME/supplies with the supervising PT
• Willingness to work a consistent weekday schedule with start time coordinated with leadership

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required for PTA licensure)
