Roles & Responsibilities

Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare pediatric patients for procedures
Provide clear, compassionate education to children and their families about pre-op expectations
Coordinate with surgical and perioperative teams to ensure smooth patient flow
Document assessments and care plans accurately and timely
Monitor patients’ condition and communicate concerns to providers promptly
Participate in orientation and ongoing team trainings to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) credential—this role is for an RN
Experience working in pre-op and pediatric settings (pediatrics emphasized)
Willingness and availability to complete required orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pediatric pre-operative assessment and family-centered care
Strong communication skills with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Clinical documentation and patient safety practices
Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate patient flow in a surgical setting
