Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill pediatric patients, delivering high-quality, evidence-based PICU care
• Manage ventilators, HFNC, and advanced respiratory support to optimize patient outcomes
• Administer and titrate IV drips and infusions using Alaris IV pumps with precision and safety
• Perform continuous seizure monitoring and collaborate with the care team on neurologic management
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR
• Communicate clearly with families and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Maintain infection prevention standards and contribute to the unit’s high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (compact license holders where applicable)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Previous PICU experience with ventilator and IV drip management (required)
• Comfortable with HFNC, seizure monitoring/EMU, and Alaris pump operation
• Team-player attitude, flexibility, and openness to feedback

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric critical care knowledge and assessment skills
• Ventilator management and respiratory support expertise
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Skillful management of IV drips/infusions and Alaris pump use
• Ability to prioritize in a small-unit environment and work independently when needed
• Excellent communication and family-centered care approach
