Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; rotating night schedule with variable weekends (schedule assessed every 4-week period). Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri days, Week 2 on-unit 36 hours with a preceptor.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults and geriatrics with solid tumor oncology diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret/detect dysrhythmias to support timely intervention
• Administer and manage IV therapy, port access, central line blood draws, and blood product administration
• Support safe chemotherapy administration when ONS-certified and assist with antineoplastic therapy workflows
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions to protect vulnerable patients
• Respond to cardiac monitoring alerts and participate in emergency response as needed
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, Radiology) to coordinate patient care and transitions

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet within the 3 most recent years); at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass
• BLS certification required
• ONS Chemo certification preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC computerized charting required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Comfort with IV therapy, port management, central line blood draws, and blood product administration
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to float to other MedSurg Oncology units

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and continuous monitoring
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line/port management
• Administration of chemotherapy (ONS preferred) and safe handling of antineoplastic agents
• Infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with EPIC charting and Alaris infusion pumps
• Tracheostomy care and basic respiratory support
• Strong clinical judgment, patient education skills, and teamwork
