Shift Type: 12.5-hour Neuro ICU shifts (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Neuro ICU patients, focusing on neurological assessment and critical care needs
Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic and neurologic data to inform timely interventions
Administer medications, manage ventilators and other critical care equipment with precision
Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient-centered plans
Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions
Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record
Support patient and family education with empathy and clear communication

Qualifications

Active RN license (Louisiana preferred or multistate compact where applicable)
Experience in Neuro ICU or critical care nursing (Neuro ICU listed as a core skill)
Current BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-acuity patients and equipment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Neurological assessment and stroke/brain injury care best practices
Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
Ventilator management and airway care
Familiarity with ICU medications, infusion pumps and titration protocols
Proficient documentation in EMR systems and accurate clinical charting
Teamwork, clinical judgment and crisis resource management
