Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to Neuro ICU patients following evidence-based protocols
- Assess, monitor, and document complex neurologic and critical care conditions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Respond to emergencies with calm, decisive action and advanced critical care skills
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and recovery expectations
- Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one
- Clinical experience in Neuro ICU or adult ICU settings preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and specialty neuro certifications encouraged
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in neurologic assessment and monitoring
- Skilled with critical care equipment and monitoring systems
- Familiarity with ICU documentation and EMR workflows
- Team-oriented communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage complex patient loads
