Shift Type: 9-hour shift (start/end times and specific days to be confirmed), day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients on the medical/surgical unit, delivering safe, compassionate care
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement patient care plans
Perform nursing procedures and use clinical judgment to escalate changes in condition
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
Participate in unit orientation activities and help onboard new staff when needed
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to facility policies and safety standards

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or compact RN license as applicable
Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
Experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred; new grads welcome to apply for orientation opportunities
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to complete required orientation and unit competencies

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical/surgical nursing principles and patient care standards
Medication administration and IV therapy skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records and thorough documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to triage, prioritize, and adapt to changing patient needs
