Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
- Assess, monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, families and interdisciplinary team members to create strong care plans
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures and discharge instructions
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in Missouri or compact RN licensure
- Experience or comfort working in Medical-Surgical and Pediatric populations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric certifications such as PALS encouraged
- Strong clinical assessment, IV and medication administration skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered mindset
Education
- Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN; BSN preferred where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical judgment in med/surg and pediatric care
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Ability to prioritize, manage time and respond in fast-paced situations
- Compassionate family-centered care and effective patient education
