Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, professional nursing care to medical-surgical patients using the nursing process
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and interventions safely and document care according to professional standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and post-discharge care to promote recovery
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns to ensure patient safety
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold regulatory and facility standards
• Build meaningful relationships with patients — you’ll get to know them and make a difference

Qualifications

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse license required (Kansas or compact license must be active at time of submission)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program — required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• New grads are welcome — recent graduates encouraged to apply
• Ability to work in a fast-paced med-surg environment with a maximum 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Commitment to professional standards, teamwork, and patient-centered care

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required) or Diploma in Nursing
• Completion of an accredited nursing program; new grads accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grasp of the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation
• Medical-surgical nursing skills and comfort managing diverse patient conditions
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Clear, timely documentation and adherence to state regulations and facility policies
• Effective communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary care teams
• Patient and family education skills and a focus on compassionate care
