Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for inpatient hold patients on Med-Surg/Telemetry units
• Monitor telemetry and intervene appropriately to maintain patient safety
• Accept and triage Emergency Department patients into inpatient holds when needed
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments per protocol and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate transitions and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient status
• Participate in Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklists to ensure best practices
• Respond to emergent situations calmly and efficiently to support positive patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS and TNCC certifications as listed
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Comfort and/or experience caring for inpatient holds; ED experience preferred
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (Fit test, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB testing, Varicella)
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills
• Solid assessment skills for acute and holding-room patients
• IV therapy and medication administration expertise
• Triage and patient flow experience in ED/inpatient hold settings
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and hospital workflows
• Teamwork mindset and ability to adapt to variable acuity
