Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting to the emergency department with urgency and compassion
• Deliver high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and procedural assistance
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate rapid, effective care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient condition clearly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care with patience and clarity
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in California (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous Emergency Room nursing experience preferred (per diem-friendly for experienced RNs)
• Ability to work 12-hour evening shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Clear TB screen and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate under pressure

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and assessment skills in acute care settings
• Proficiency with medication administration and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks during high-acuity periods
• Calm, decisive problem-solving and excellent teamwork abilities
