Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts; exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed with hiring team (RN - L&D)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care for mother and baby
Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognizing and escalating concerns promptly
Collaborate with OB providers, anesthesia, and neonatal teams for safe deliveries
Perform skilled assessments, interventions, and documentation throughout labor
Educate patients and families on labor progress, procedures, and postpartum care
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana (or compact license as applicable)
Experience or strong interest in Labor & Delivery nursing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or supported
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented obstetric environments
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of labor progression, fetal monitoring, and delivery procedures
Skillful maternal and neonatal assessment with timely intervention
Comfort working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Proficient documentation and ability to manage acuity in a busy L&D unit
Patient education and family-centered care approach
