Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, prioritizing safety and dignity
• Continuously assess and monitor patient condition using advanced hemodynamic and ventilator monitoring
• Administer medications and therapies accurately and in a timely fashion
• Act quickly and decisively during emergencies, supporting the multidisciplinary team
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and family members to create and execute care plans
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based safety efforts
• Mentor and support colleagues, contributing to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (required)
• ICU or critical care nursing experience (preferred)
• BLS certification (required) and ACLS certification (preferred or obtained shortly after hire)
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, critically ill patients and use critical care equipment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced assessment skills for acute and critical conditions
• Familiarity with ventilator management and airway support
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Proficient clinical documentation and electronic health record use
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Teamwork, situational awareness and effective bedside communication
