Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, interpreting complex data to guide care
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Operate and manage ventilators and other ICU-specific equipment with confidence
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans
• Provide family-centered communication and education during high-stress situations
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes thoroughly in the patient record
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and stabilize patients while coordinating higher-level care

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license valid in Louisiana
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required or willing to obtain
• Prior critical care or ICU experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in fast-paced settings
• Current CPR certification and adherence to facility credentialing requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care principles and ICU nursing practices
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient advocacy skills
• Comfort managing complex medication regimens and infusion pumps
