Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and continuously monitor critically ill patients to detect changes and intervene early
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex infusion therapies safely
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Lead and participate in resuscitation and emergency response efforts when needed
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate and support patients and families through high-stress situations with compassion

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Critical care experience in an ICU setting is preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and emergency response
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Patient assessment, acute intervention, and care planning
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
