Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU with compassion and clinical excellence
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatments throughout 12-hour shifts
• Administer medications and manage advanced life support devices safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, care plans, and recovery expectations
• Actively participate in unit quality improvement, clinical rounds, and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact/multistate RN license as applicable)
• ICU experience preferred; comfort managing critically ill patients and complex equipment
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced critical care setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICU monitoring, ventilator management, and hemodynamic support
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Skilled in medication administration, titration, and IV therapy
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond quickly in emergency situations
• Collaborative teamwork and clear communication with patients, families, and staff
