Roles & Responsibilities

• Float confidently between Neuro, Surgical, Medical, Cardiology/CVICU and other ICUs to meet patient and staffing needs
• Deliver high-quality critical care including ventilator management, advanced cardiac monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Respond to emergencies and manage dysrhythmias while collaborating with rapid response and interdisciplinary teams
• Perform and manage central lines, arterial lines, PICC care and blood product administration safely
• Use EPIC for accurate, timely documentation and continuity of care
• Assess and manage complex patients (post-op cardiac, transplant, multisystem organ dysfunction) with clinical judgment and compassion
• Support infection prevention, isolation precautions and safe procedural assistance across units

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state licensure implied by practice) and ability to work in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
• Demonstrated skills in IV start, telemetry monitoring and ventilator management
• Teaching hospital experience required; previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and 12-lead EKGs
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and emergency medication administration
• Management of arterial lines, central lines, PICCs and blood product administration
• Neurological monitoring: EVD, ICP monitoring, NIHSS and acute stroke care
• Respiratory support skills: HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, suctioning, ABG interpretation
• Familiarity with post-cardiac surgery care (CABG, sheath removal) and hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz)
• Strong infection prevention practices, isolation precautions and safe phlebotomy
