Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-procedure patient assessments and prepare patients for EP and cath procedures
• Provide hands-on procedure support including sterile technique and catheter assistance
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation while continuously assessing patient response
• Monitor cardiac rhythm and hemodynamics throughout procedures and intervene as needed
• Deliver focused post-procedure recovery care, monitor access sites, and reinforce discharge instructions
• Document assessments, medications, interventions and outcomes accurately in Cerner
• Respond rapidly and effectively to emergency situations, applying ACLS protocols when required
• Collaborate with cardiologists, techs, anesthesia and support staff to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to submit
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, comfortable with critically ill patients
• Demonstrated experience with peripheral and coronary circulation cases required
• Prior cath lab or EP lab experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Merge Hemo and Cerner EMR is a plus
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, participate in call rotation and every-other-weekend schedule
• BSN not required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required
• Facility orientation: 12 orientation hours

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm and hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Experience with cath/EP equipment: Impella, IABP, IVUS, rotablator, FFR, AngioJet, nitric oxide
• Comfort administering and monitoring moderate sedation
• Cerner EMR experience for accurate charting
• Merge Hemo system familiarity is a bonus
• Working knowledge of Phillips and Siemens imaging equipment
• Ability to function in high-acuity acute care and STEMI-receiving environments
