Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and manage patients of all ages presenting to the ED
• Provide timely emergency interventions and monitor patient responses
• Coordinate care with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff in a fast-paced environment
• Document care thoroughly in EPIC and maintain accurate patient records
• Respond to trauma and acute cases, applying TNCC principles when needed
• Administer medications and advanced life support as indicated (BLS/ACLS/PALS)
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure requirements apply)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience treating all ages and types of causes
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems
• Comfort working in a Critical Access hospital ED setting
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and emergency decision-making skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment across lifespan (pediatric to geriatric)
• Trauma care principles and rapid stabilization techniques
• Proficiency documenting and ordering in EPIC
• Medication administration and IV/peel skills common to ED practice
• Clear communication, teamwork, and ability to perform under pressure
• Patient and family education during high-stress encounters
