Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Stabilize and manage acute medical and trauma patients with confidence
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform necessary emergency procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate timely care
• Document patient care and interventions clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families
• Participate in department quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing training

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN licensure as applicable
• Minimum emergency department experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts in a high-acuity environment
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
• Current healthcare provider immunizations and required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Acute care and trauma management
• IV therapy, medication administration, and procedural support
• Electronic health record documentation
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize multiple patients
• Teamwork and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
