Roles & Responsibilities

Triage and assess patients rapidly on arrival to prioritize care
Provide high-quality emergency nursing interventions and treatments
Monitor patient status and respond to changes with urgency and professionalism
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and next steps in a compassionate way
Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient flow and safety

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential
Eligible for or holding an active Louisiana RN license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) encouraged or preferred
Experience or comfort working in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency nursing assessment and prioritization
IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
Ability to manage multiple acute patients and urgent situations
Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and care teams
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
