Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: As-needed (per diem), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Night shift

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, safe nursing care to residents during the overnight shift
Perform timely patient assessments and document changes in condition
Administer medications and treatments accurately and within scope
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
Respond promptly to emergent situations and escalate appropriately
Support resident comfort and safety during evenings and night hours
Communicate clearly with day staff to ensure seamless continuity of care

Qualifications

Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Alabama)
Recent clinical experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and prioritize tasks effectively

Education

LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or certificate (as applicable)
RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and documentation best practices
Medication administration and charting
Basic wound care and infection control procedures
Familiarity with long-term care/skilled nursing workflows
Ability to handle nocturnal resident needs calmly and efficiently
Team collaboration and clear shift-to-shift handoffs
