Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care using the Nursing Process to guide safe, high-quality outcomes
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to promptly identify changes in patient status
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and unit protocols
- Assume leadership on shift by delegating tasks, coordinating care, and supporting less-experienced staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and communicate effectively during handoffs
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies to protect patients and team members
- Participate in patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions of care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (must be valid prior to start)
- Current ACLS and BLS required; PALS or ENPC required (active before contract start or course must be booked at orientation)
- Experience working in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry environments (clinical proficiency expected)
- Demonstrated ability to lead, delegate, and work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Proficient with the Nursing Process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Ability to delegate safely and supervise support staff
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and facility standards of care
- Excellent clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills
- Familiarity with electronic health record workflows
