Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct one-on-one and group therapy that helps patients regain communication and swallowing skills
- Document progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in the medical record accurately and on time
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to coordinate holistic care
- Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support carryover and safe swallowing at home
- Participate in discharge planning to promote continuity of care and successful transitions
Qualifications
- Current state license or eligibility to be licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in Pennsylvania
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent professional credential
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or pursuing certification is a plus
- Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment planning for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and outcome measurement
- Proficient in patient-centered care and family education
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehab team
- Good clinical judgment for safety in dysphagia management and therapy progression
- Strong organizational skills for timely documentation and caseload management
