Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing function using evidence-based assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing outcomes
• Deliver engaging, person-centered therapy sessions and adapt approaches based on progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive rehab plans
• Document treatment, progress, and discharge planning clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on strategies to support carryover and safety
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical expertise to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• Maryland state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or actively pursuing certification
• Demonstrated experience in medical/rehabilitation settings preferred (inpatient/outpatient experience a plus)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills, with a patient-centered approach

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and treatment of dysphagia and swallowing disorders
• Management of neurogenic communication and cognitive-communication impairments
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and outcome measurement
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary rehab team
• Comfortable using electronic health records for documentation and communication
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and clinical colleagues
