Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic x-ray exams using proper exposure techniques to produce clear, diagnostic-quality images.
• Explain imaging procedures to patients and families with clarity and compassion to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Apply radiation protection practices and sterile technique to maintain safety for patients and staff.
• Conduct routine quality control checks on radiologic and darkroom equipment to maintain image integrity.
• Maintain accurate imaging records, track images, and ensure timely storage and retrieval of studies.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and support annual inspections by a certified Radiation Physicist.
• Collaborate in team meetings, contribute to process improvements, and support smooth clinic operations.
• Step in as needed to support providers and clinical staff, ensuring continuous, high-quality urgent care services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology (required)
• ARRT certification to be successfully passed within 12 months of employment
• Current Iowa permit to practice radiologic technology (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• Prior clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and imaging systems

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology

• Image quality control and equipment checks
• Proficiency with EHR and digital imaging systems
