Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled therapeutic care under the direction of a supervising PT
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, gait training, and therapeutic exercises
• Implement individualized treatment plans and modify interventions as directed
• Monitor and document patient progress clearly and accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety and fall prevention
• Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment and follow infection control protocols
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Licensed or eligible for PTA licensure in Kansas (must obtain prior to practice if required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable working with a diverse patient population in a rehab/contract setting
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of all program clinical requirements and eligibility for state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with therapeutic exercise, gait training, and assistive devices
• Proficient documentation skills and the ability to track patient progress
• Strong patient education and motivational skills
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize caseloads
• Ability to follow care plans and implement delegated interventions safely
• Team collaboration and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
