Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess patients continuously and implement individualized care plans with clinical judgment
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and monitor post-procedure recovery with precision
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document care clearly and promptly to maintain continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Louisiana (or compact RN eligible) required
• Minimum Med/Surg clinical experience preferred; new grads with relevant clinical rotations considered
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work with an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles, patient assessment, and common acute conditions
• Familiarity with medication administration, IV therapy, and documentation best practices
• Comfort using electronic health record systems and technology at the bedside
• Ability to triage, escalate concerns, and respond to changes in patient status quickly
• Teamwork, time management, and patient education skills to improve outcomes and satisfaction
