Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Sacramento, CA

Start Date: 04-20-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Part-time, 5-hour shift (schedule to be determined; orientation required). Start date: April 20, 2026. Days and exact start/end times to be confirmed with hiring manager.

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patient function and develop individualized treatment plans
Implement therapeutic interventions that restore mobility and independence
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
Document patient progress clearly and accurately in the medical record
Educate patients and families on home programs and injury prevention
Participate in orientation and training to align with facility standards

Qualifications

Current California Physical Therapy license (required)
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree preferred
BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Experience in outpatient orthopedics or pediatrics is a plus
Strong communication and patient education skills
Ability to work well in a team-focused, patient-centered environment

Education

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor's or Master's in related field considered

Knowledge & Skills

Therapeutic exercise prescription and manual therapy principles
Functional assessment and outcome measure utilization
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
Ability to create clear home exercise programs and patient education materials
Strong interpersonal skills and clinical decision-making
