Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during shifts
• Serve as the charge nurse and resource for the unit, providing clinical leadership and support
• Assist the Director and provide administrative backup in the Director's absence
• Perform patient assessments and lead comprehensive care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provide patient/resident and family teaching to promote recovery and wellness
• Collaborate with ancillary staff and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care
• Maintain resident/patient privacy and confidentiality while upholding facility policies and standards
• Participate in quality management initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (State of Maine or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
• Strong leadership and coordination skills demonstrated in prior charge or unit lead roles
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams
• Current clinical competence in assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) — 2 year college degree required
