Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive progressive care and med-surgical nursing for patients across the lifespan, from newborn to geriatric
• Perform telemetry and cardiac monitoring vigilantly to identify changes and escalate appropriately
• Administer and manage IV/drip medications common to PCU (including insulin, heparin and diltiazem) safely and accurately
• Conduct one main head-to-toe assessment per shift and ongoing pain, Braden and fall assessments as required
• Complete hourly rounding and timely pain medication assessments to keep patients comfortable and safe
• Work independently in a small rural facility and hit the ground running while collaborating with nursing assistants and the interdisciplinary team
• Document care thoroughly and maintain regulatory and facility standards during every shift

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact license (must be uploaded with profile)
• Minimum 3+ years experience in PCU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Basic dysrhythmia test documented in profile (required)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
• Skills checklists for Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit current to 1 year (required)
• Previous travel experience and rural/small facility experience highly preferred
• Reliable vehicle and permanent address included in profile

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring
• Progressive Care Unit workflows and acuity-based RN:patient assignments
• IV/drip medication management including insulin, heparin, and diltiazem
• Medication administration, hourly rounding, and focused pain assessments
• Strong assessment skills including head-to-toe, Braden and fall risk evaluation
• Ability to work independently in a small, rural hospital setting
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and nursing skills checklists
