Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional mobility and design individualized treatment plans
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve strength, balance, and independence
• Document patient progress clearly and communicate outcomes with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety to promote lasting recovery
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab staff to optimize patient discharge planning
• Lead and participate in goal-setting, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license in Delaware or eligible for licensure
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment and manual/motor skills with experience in inpatient/rehab settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab environment with varied caseloads

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy may be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility training
• Knowledge of documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Skilled in patient and caregiver education, discharge planning, and safety assessments
• Ability to prioritize caseload, manage time effectively, and adapt treatment plans
• Familiarity with rehab equipment and assistive devices
