Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and design personalized occupational therapy plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living, mobility, and independence
- Document patient progress clearly and communicate updates to the care team and families
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to coordinate comprehensive care
- Train patients and caregivers in adaptive techniques and use of assistive devices
- Discharge plan preparation and referral to community resources to support long-term recovery
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) — current state licensure required (California licensure recommended)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willing to obtain upon start
- Experience in occupational therapy settings such as acute rehab, outpatient, or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with therapy care plans and progress notes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to engage patients and interdisciplinary staff
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (as required by state licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and individualized treatment planning
- Therapeutic activities for ADLs, functional mobility, and fine motor skills
- Adaptive equipment recommendations and training
- Clinical documentation and outcome measurement
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
