Physical Therapist
Location: Watchung, NJ
Start Date: 03-02-2026
End Date: 06-06-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day shift
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercise to improve patient mobility and function
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality patient care
- Document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on goals, home programs, and safe mobility strategies
- Participate in care planning and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license for New Jersey (required)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred, or degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
- Previous clinical experience in inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation preferred
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and thorough documentation
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor's or Master's in Physical Therapy acceptable
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills and clinical reasoning in rehab settings
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and manual therapy techniques
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
- Time management and organizational skills to handle a varied caseload
- Familiarity with discharge planning and care coordination
