Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and monitor patient condition throughout the night
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform timely assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with nurses and providers to implement patient-centered care plans
- Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and clear communication
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed to keep unit flow smooth
Qualifications
- Current LPN license (eligible to work in Maine) — RN candidates may be considered per posting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications welcomed
- Clinical experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting is a plus
- Strong communication, assessment, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently overnight and as part of a collaborative team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN); RN applicants should hold an accredited Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing

- Patient assessment and monitoring

- Wound care and basic clinical procedures
- Electronic health record (EHR) proficiency
- Clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Prioritization and critical thinking during overnight shift demands
