Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and needs to create individualized care plans
• Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills
• Provide skilled OT services across varied diagnoses and settings, including float coverage
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and safety
• Recommend and modify adaptive equipment and home/environmental modifications
• Contribute to a positive culture by mentoring colleagues and supporting unit goals

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Maryland or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (OTD/MS/BS as applicable)
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification or ability to obtain
• Comfortable with float assignments and flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
• Previous clinical experience preferred; new grads with relevant rotations considered

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTD preferred where applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL training, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Assessment and documentation proficiency, including outcome measurement
• Knowledge of splinting, positioning, and activity grading as clinically appropriate
• Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer skills
• Time management and caseload prioritization to meet diverse patient needs
