Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and perform thorough speech, language, and swallowing assessments
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that target meaningful outcomes
• Deliver skilled therapy and adjust interventions based on progress and goals
• Document patient status and progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate holistic care
• Educate patients and caregivers to maximize carryover and functional gains
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Current or eligible New Mexico license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or actively pursuing certification
• Experience working with pediatric or adult populations in clinical settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to create measurable treatment plans
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluation
• Skilled in evidence-based therapy techniques and outcome-driven treatment
• Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic health records
• Strong assessment interpretation and goal-writing abilities
• Ability to coach and educate family members and caregivers
• Comfort working in a fast-paced rehab/contract environment
