Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and perform thorough speech, language, and swallowing assessments
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that target meaningful outcomes
- Deliver skilled therapy and adjust interventions based on progress and goals
- Document patient status and progress clearly and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate holistic care
- Educate patients and caregivers to maximize carryover and functional gains
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Current or eligible New Mexico license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or actively pursuing certification
- Experience working with pediatric or adult populations in clinical settings preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning and ability to create measurable treatment plans
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluation
- Skilled in evidence-based therapy techniques and outcome-driven treatment
- Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic health records
- Strong assessment interpretation and goal-writing abilities
- Ability to coach and educate family members and caregivers
- Comfort working in a fast-paced rehab/contract environment
